Dial A Dump Industries, one of Sydney’s largest waste transporters have recently signed a 2 year contract with Benedict Recycling for the processing of approximately 700 tonne per week of recyclable material. Dial a Dump Industries have been an Industry Leader in Waste Management over the years and are located in Alexandria near the airport. This increase in tonnes through the door will have the facility running very close to full capacity. There are also some added benefits to the agreement as well, once separated using our “State of the Art Plant” the material will then be processed further into a range of products not limited to but include the following that will be ready for further beneficial reuse back in the market

10mm Aggregates

Crusher Dust

Recycled Turf Underlay

Eco Mulch

These products are processed and approved against the NSW DECC Guidelines of which all waste processors must comply with.

In 2009, at the Copenhagen UN Climate Change Conference in December, world’s leaders will meet to reach a new global climate deal. There has never been a more important time to participate in Earth Hour and join the world in a visual mandate to fight climate change.

Earth Hour 2009 aims to reach 1 billion people in 1,000 cities who, by simply switching all their non-essential lights off, will show their support for action on climate change.

Earth Hour is a positive message of hope and action, emphasising what people can do when they act together. This is why Benedict Industries will take part in this year’s event and I would like to invite you to join us.

Benedict has committed to Earth Hour through additional work initiatives including:

Using energy light saver globes where ever possible such as in our carparks.

Implementation of an office recycling system at Benedict Industries and Recycling Head Offices.

Benedict has also entered into an exciting new venture, with a Development Approval been granted for a Cogeneration Power Plant at our Chipping Norton Recycling facility that will allow us to generate and supply 5.5MW of power fuelled from recycled construction and demolition waste.

If you would like further information on Earth Hour visit their website at www.earthhour.org, or to get more details about Benedict’s commitment to Earth Hour and beyond please contact Elke Dupere on 02 8761 0000 or email her at elke@benedict.com.au

We would like to tell you about an important global warming initiative - Earth Hour - taking place in Australia and around the world on Saturday March 29th 2008.

At 8pm on Saturday March 29th, cities around the world will turn off their lights for one hour to show that it’s possible to take action on global warming.

All households, communities and business are being invited to turn their lights off for one hour at 8pm on Saturday March 29th 2008.

BENEDICT will be turning off the lights in our building/s and on our sites for Earth Hour and we have asked our team to help by:

Turning their computer monitors and lights in their work space off before leaving at the end of the week, Saturday 29th March.

Turning off all plant and equipment before leaving at the end of Saturday 29th March.

Naturally we will adhere to our OH&S guidelines/standards and emergency lighting and security systems will remain on as normal.

BENEDICT is committed to Earth Hour and encourages you to spread the word by learning more about Earth Hour through the attached links and involving your friends and family. We also encourage you to turn off your lights at home on the night. For more information please visit www.earthhour.org

We look forward to the results of the night and thank you for your help in making this possible.
